How to Calibrate Your Screen Ruler to Exact Real-World Size
Every computer monitor, tablet, and smartphone has a different pixel density (PPI). A standard 96-pixel box on a 27" 4K monitor is physically much smaller than on a 24" 1080p screen. To guarantee that 1 centimeter on your screen equals 1 centimeter in the physical universe, calibration is essential:

Why isn't an online ruler accurate without calibration?
Standard web browsers operate on CSS pixels where 1 inch is artificially defined as 96 CSS pixels regardless of physical monitor size. A high-density screen might have 160 to 220 physical pixels per inch. Calibration bridges CSS pixels to your physical hardware.
Does this ruler save my calibration for future visits?
